The crisp bathroom where we tend to do some vile attemts at cleaning ourselves up after work

Our Monday Morning Mishap was a busted rod: while drilling it just snapped. As this happened in the hole we had to go and make ouselves a fishing tool to get the drill string out.

One of some big birds of prey on the way back down (brother dearest, what are we looking at?)

View of Wytheville from above with the Holiday Inn where we are staying in the weekend circled. (Allison, If you get bored with Pepsico in Europe: the big white building just to the right and above the hotel is a huge Pepsi factory...)

Getting close to the summit

Enjoying myself despite the sore muscles from work

As it appears these signs are very popular: I crossed heaps of them, even in the middle of the forest... Figured I was still pretty innocent though considering that I forgot to bring my fishing, hunting and trapping gear

A bunch of Osbourne Moment on the horizon

Part of an ex-wast dump that has been covered up, found out wat it really was only after I had crossed it (I was already wondering why that creek water looked so strange...)

Unexpected Tuscan landscapes

The straight line thing entailed crossing a railroad track, a reclaimed wast dump, a wastewater purification plant (beautiful sites indeed) and a dozen or so private properties. Sheds like on this picture are apparently typical for this area of the US and are mostly in a half caved-in state, this one is relatively very flash looking.

The original plan for last Sunday was to rent a Harley and do some touring through West Virinia. However, there appear to be no rental places within 3 states distance.... Can't really blame them, with the amount of tourists overe here in the Mid-East US they'd probably be broke within a week.
Plan B was to climb the "Holiday Inn Hill", the first thing outside I saw in daylight after I arrived here and I've been wanting to climb since.
The tactics: to go up in a straight line from our hotel... to keep it interesting .
